Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen and Tabasco brand have come together once again to bring guests the Louisiana taste they love with new Tabasco Spiced Pepper Barrel Tenders. Popeyes and Tabasco Pepper Sauce are a perfect culinary match, delivering a dish that is pure Louisiana: rich, spicy, and bursting with flavor.

“The inspiration for our latest creation comes from the 140-year-long tradition of making Tabasco Sauce with peppers aged to perfection,” says Hector A. Muñoz, Popeyes CMO. “In true Louisiana-style, the process of making Tabasco Sauce is meticulous and slow, designed to capture the flavor of the peppers in a sauce that is known the world over. Now, we are marinating the Handcrafted Tenders that our guests already crave in Tabasco spices to deliver a new offer infused with the tastes and traditions of Louisiana cooking. We can’t wait for guests to come in and try it.”

The Tabasco production process begins by harvesting the pepper when it is absolutely perfect. The peppers are placed in white-oak barrels, sealed, and covered with salt cap from Avery Island, where red peppers used in Tabasco Sauce are grown.

The barrels are set in the aging warehouse for three years. The final result of the meticulous aging process becomes the key ingredient for Popeyes Tabasco Spiced Pepper Barrel Tenders, ensuring that the Tabasco flavor people love will come through in every delicious bite.

Three tender, juicy, all white meat chicken breast strips, marinated in a special blend of white oak-aged Tabasco spice are hand-battered and breaded in our Southern style crispy coating, then fried up fresh in our kitchens. Served on a bed of Cajun Fries, with a Buttermilk Biscuit and our Smok’n Pepper Ranch Dipping Sauce, Tabasco Spiced Pepper Barrel Tenders are available at participating Popeyes for a limited time for only $4.99.

This is the third time Popeyes has come together with another iconic Louisiana brand with a limited-time offer. Innovations including Zatarain’s Butterfly Shrimp and Red Stick Chicken continue to showcase the regional cuisine that is enchanting guests all over the world.
