Popeyes® Chicken & Biscuits, a division of AFC Enterprises, Inc. (Nasdaq: AFCE), today announced the opening of its first restaurant in Chattanooga on April 24, 2001. Popeyes plans to eventually open up to eight restaurants in the Chattanooga area to serve guests its delicious Cajun-style food and atmosphere. Each of the restaurants will employ approximately 35 Chattanooga residents.

The restaurant, located at 3352 Broad Street, is the first of three company-owned Popeyes Chicken & Biscuits restaurants that are planned in the next year and a half. The restaurant will be open Sunday - Thursday, 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. and on Fridays and Saturdays, 10 a.m. until 11 p.m. In addition to its great Cajun-style food, the new Broad Street restaurant features Popeyes' new Heritage design. The building is reminiscent of the architecture found in the historic French Quarter of New Orleans, Popeyes Chicken & Biscuits' birthplace.
