Portillo’s, the fast casual concept known for its menu of Chicago-style favorites, celebrates the opening of its 50th location on Tuesday and the brand’s first Minnesota location at 8450 Hudson Rd. in Woodbury. Opening at 10:30 a.m., Portillo’s is celebrating the new restaurant with a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by Portillo’s founder Dick Portillo, CEO Keith Kinsey, and Woodbury Mayor Mary Giuliani Stephens.
“The Woodbury location marks a milestone for the company,” says Portillo’s CEO Keith Kinsey. “Portillo’s has grown from founder Dick Portillo’s original Dog House in the Chicago suburbs to 50 locations in seven states. We could not be more excited that this momentous opening coincides with our first Minnesota location, and the 50th anniversary of the Woodbury community.”
The 9,000 square foot restaurant features a 1920’s theme, drawing décor inspiration from the Prohibition era. Portillo’s Woodbury offers seating for more than 200 guests, with double drive-thru lanes, and a seasonal outdoor patio.
Guests can enjoy a number of Portillo’s classic menu items, including Chicago-Style Hot Dogs, Italian Beef Sandwiches, char-grilled burgers, fresh salads, and Portillo’s famous Chocolate Cake.
