    Potbelly Unveils New Franchise Growth Plan

    Potbelly Sandwich Shop, the neighborhood sandwich concept, is raising the lunchtime stakes with a new franchise growth strategy that is positioned to shake up the fast-casual sector.

    Potbelly plans to grow in several new key regions and is already working with several groups interested in major markets in key metropolitan areas across the United States.

Just like how we select high-quality ingredients for our menu items, we’re seeking to award franchise opportunities to experienced multi-unit franchisees who have an unquestioned capacity to expand our footprint and operate the best sandwich shops in America,” says Jeff Welch, Senior Vice President of Development for Potbelly. “Potbelly isn’t just a sandwich shop, it’s the neighborhood spot where the community can come together to take a break from a busy day. We are excited to reach new customers by way of our franchise expansion plan.”

    By the end of this year, Potbelly will have opened eight new franchise locations, including shops in North Carolina, Texas and Minnesota. Additionally, Potbelly expects to open 10 new locations by the end of 2019 throughout the Midwest, Southeast and areas adjacent to existing markets.

    Setting the Potbelly opportunity apart are the brand’s several differentiators, including the prime markets still available for development, innovative menu options that drive sales, and flexible footprint opportunities, which increase options for site selection.

    As Potbelly continues to expand throughout the United States, the brand is awarding franchise opportunities to qualified multi-unit groups who are looking to add another successful segment to their portfolio.
