The unofficial start to the fall season is marked by the beginning of the school year, the kickoff of football season, and everything pumpkin and apple.

Just in time for fall, the Dairy Queen system, a Berkshire Hathaway company, is bringing back two fan favorites Monday, the Pumpkin Pie Blizzard Treat and the Apple Pie Blizzard Treat.

Available at participating Dairy Queen and DQ Grill & Chill locations nationwide, the Pumpkin Pie Blizzard Treat is a smooth and creamy combination of pumpkin pie pieces and DQ vanilla soft serve that’s crowned with whipped topping and a touch of nutmeg. The Apple Pie Blizzard Treat is a sweet blend of real Granny Smith apple pie filling and cinnamon pie pieces blended with DQ signature vanilla soft serve topped with whipped topping and cinnamon. Both Blizzard Treats are available in four sizes, including the popular Mini.

“This is a sweet, friendly competition between two of the most popular classic fall flavors and we want our fans to tell us which one rules their world,” says Barry Westrum, executive vice president of Marketing for American Dairy Queen. “Our fans like choices and we are giving them the best of the best to choose from. We are excited to see which way our fans go. I’ll admit it’s tough to pick a favorite. They are both outstanding Blizzard Treats.”

Many Blizzard Treat flavors, including Apple Pie and Pumpkin Pie, can easily be made into DQ Cakes, which are perfect for the first day of fall and other special events, such as birthdays and anniversaries.
