Canadians can now enjoy the taste of Qdoba Mexican Grill’s wide variety of handcrafted Mexican cuisine, as the brand announced its newest location in London, Ontario.

The newest Qdoba joins the brand’s first-ever Canadian restaurant, which recently opened in Brandon, Manitoba. Both locations will help attract new customers and franchisees north of the United States border.

As one of Qdoba’s first international restaurants, the Ontario location is a significant milestone for the company, which has grown to become one of the largest Mexican fast-casual chains, with more than 600 restaurants in 44 states, the District of Columbia, and now in Canada.

Qdoba, which plans to open 70–85 North America locations in fiscal 2013, has had strong interest from existing restaurant owners looking to develop throughout Canada.

“Qdoba is excited to continue our growth beyond the U.S. border, and franchisees like Leo Stathakis of QNorth Development Corporation in Ontario are helping to pave our way,” says John Dikos, director of franchise development for Qdoba Mexican Grill. “We will continue cultivating franchise partners in the U.S. and internationally that exhibit an entrepreneurial spirit and passion for food, along with a track record of success in the restaurant industry.”

While the brand has strong growth plans in 2013, its commitment to supporting and rewarding local restaurant communities remains a top priority.

To celebrate the grand opening in Ontario, Qdoba will give one free entrée to the first 20 customers each day of the restaurant’s opening week, March 18–23.

The Ontario restaurant will also encourage guests to become members of Qdoba Rewards, a loyalty program that routinely rewards participants with free food and other benefits.

The first 500 Ontario customers who register as members of Qdoba Rewards will receive a free burrito when they buy a burrito, and anyone who registers during opening week will be automatically entered to win free entrees for a year (a total of 52 free entrees, one per week).

Qdoba’s Canadian restaurants will mirror the experience of its U.S. counterparts, demonstrating Qdoba’s undeniable passion for food, which has driven the brand’s success since its first location opened in 1995.

Each day, Qdoba chefs prep fresh, quality ingredients; cut tortillas by hand for chips; hand-smash guacamole; and grill fresh, marinated meats on an open-flame grill.

Guests can choose from a variety of menu items inspired by flavors from culinary regions in the U.S. and Mexico, like the brand’s signature 3-Cheese Queso or Ancho Chile BBQ sauce.

All restaurants use fresh, quality ingredients to create the brand’s extensive selection of entrées, from tacos and burritos to quesadillas, nachos, and more.

Every guest is encouraged to customize each and every dish on the menu to suit their exact taste preferences and/or dietary needs, whether they’re looking for something vegetarian, low fat, low calorie, gluten free, or a more indulgent treat.

Qdoba’s Canadian locations also offer Qdoba’s fresh and hot catering services with buffet-style Hot Bars (taco, nacho, and Naked Burrito bars) and burrito box lunches that can feed from 10 to 100 people.
