Qdoba introduced its newest permanent addition to the menu: Smothered Burritos, which feature three new smothered sauces that go inside and over the top with flavor to give guests a new way to experience burritos.

Dubbed “Smothers,” the three sauces each offer their own unique flavor to help guests amp up their burrito-eating experience and are layered inside and on-top-of one of three new Smothered Burritos:

·      Tangy Verde, whichhas a mild-to-medium Smother that is fresh and bright with a tangy kick;

·      Bold Red Chile, which has a medium Smother that has a robust toasted chile flavor with a hint of sweetness;

·      Smoky Chipotle Cream, which has the hottest Smother and is rich, creamy, spicy, and smoky.

“At Qdoba, we pride ourselves on creating big, bold flavors that elevate our guests’ experience,” says John Cooke, vice president of menu strategy and innovation. “Our Smothers deliver on this craving by bringing three new flavors and a new way for guests to dig in to our burritos. We’re excited to continue expanding our palate with Smothered Burritos.”

Each Smothered Burrito features hot ingredients, like rice, beans, protein, and a choice of Smother on the inside, with a second layer of Smother and shredded cheese that melts on the outside. Served warm, the Smothered Burrito is then topped off with sour cream, pico de gallo, and lettuce.

The new Smothered Burritos are Qdoba’s first menu addition since the fast-casual Mexican brand recently announced an all-inclusive pricing structure in which guests pay a single price for any entrée—a price that is inclusive of as many flavors the guest would like to add, including guacamole, 3-Cheese Queso, Queso Diablo, and now the new Smothers.
