Today QSR magazine opened its booth at the largest foodservice and hospitality show in the world, the National Restaurant Association Restaurant, Hotel-Motel Show in Chicago. Along with the publication’s creators, the booth will also have copies of QSR’s renowned May issue and daily iPod and iPad giveaways.

QSR loves coming to cover the Show in Chicago, but this year I’m even more excited to bring along hundreds of copies of our May issue—the biggest and best issue we’ve produced this year,” says Blair Chancey, QSR’s editor. “The cover subject alone will set the Show abuzz.”

McDonald’s CEO, and former NRA Show keynote speaker, Jim Skinner allowed exclusive access to QSR, giving an in-depth interview at the franchise’s Oak Brook, Illinois, headquarters for the May cover story “How Jim Skinner Beat the Recession.”

In addition to Skinner, the May issue includes interviews with other industry A-listers including Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz, Subway president Fred DeLuca, and Yum! Brands CEO David Novak. “Securing that kind of star power came with the help of two other industry veterans, Ellen Koteff and Peter Romeo,” Chancey says. “They both lent their expertise to the creation of two of this month’s biggest articles.”

Beyond giving Show attendees access to exclusive interviews, QSR is also sharing its expertise at this year’s education sessions. QSR’s associate publisher, Greg Sanders, will be leading a breakfast innovation discussion that includes participants from the American Egg Board, Denny’s, Pacci Ristorante, Datassential Research, and Jack in the Box on Monday.

“Breakfast is big business for restaurant operators,” Sanders says, “and this panel should give fantastic insight to both chain and independent operators into how to claim their share of the business, and then some.”

For the first time in its history, QSR will also be hosting booth giveaways each day of the Show. Attendees can enter to win an iPod or iPad at QSR’s booth, No. 4861.

“From the giveaways to the huge May issue we’ve brought to the exclusive happy hour event we’re hosting, QSR is pulling out all the stops this year at the NRA Show,” Chancey says. “I’m excited to be here, and even more excited to meet with readers to hear what they’d like to see more of in our print and online coverage.”

QSR is located at booth 4861. For exclusive coverage of the NRA Show, visit QSRMagazine.com.
