With the opening of its fifth Quiznos Sub restaurant in the Dominican Republic, QSR International—a multibrand master franchise quick-serve developer for brands like Quiznos and Teriyaki Experience—continues its aggressive expansion into Latin America and the Caribbean, where it now has 124 total restaurants operating in 14 different countries.

The Dominican Republic restaurant opened on August 28 in the 1,800-seat food court of the Agora Mall, located in the capital city of Santo Domingo.

Agora Mall, certified as the first eco-friendly "green”building in the Dominican Republic, is also one of the largest malls in the Caribbean, with more than 120,000 square meters of rentable space.

Just prior to the restaurant opening, QSR International signed a development agreement with Lobarnechea Food Investment S.A., the opening unit's franchisee, for 16 additional Quiznos Sub restaurants to be built over the next several years.

Lobarnechea Food Investments S.A., which currently operates five Quiznos Sub restaurants in the Dominican Republic, will open a sixth Quiznos Sub restaurant later this year in the city of Santiago.
