R Taco, a fast-casual street taco chain backed by Buffalo Wild Wings, announced the addition of two new franchise groups. The agreements will result in seven new locations across Arizona, Indiana, Michigan and Ohio.

Taco Maumee, LLC, has signed a deal to open four R Taco locations in Maumee, Ohio; FT Wayne, Indiana; East Lansing, Michigan and Ann Arbor, Michigan. Sonoran Restaurant Group, LLC has signed a development deal for three locations in the Phoenix, Arizona area.

“We are thrilled to welcome Taco Maumee, LLC and Sonoran Restaurant Group, LLC to our franchise family,” says Tom Berzinski, vice president, managing director, R Taco. “The addition of the two groups will help expand the R Taco footprint into three additional states including Arizona, Indiana and Michigan.”

Taco Maumee, LLC is owned by Steve Grube and his two sons Mitchell and Mathias.

“We are very excited to open an R taco in Maumee, Ohio,” says Steve Grube, owner of Taco Maumee, LLC. “The concept has a good authentic vibe with outstanding food and the R Taco franchise group have been great to work with.”

Sonoran Restaurant Group, LLC is managed by Jake Storms along with his father Gene and operating partners Bob Mayo and Bryson Wignet.

“After frequenting R Taco in other markets, we are thrilled to bring the concept to Arizona,” said Jake Storms, owner, Sonoran Restaurant Group, LLC. “R Taco offers fresh, phenomenal food as well as a fun, unique atmosphere that we are excited to share with people here in the Valley.”

Launched in Dallas in 2010 as Rusty Taco and named for co-founder Rusty Fenton, the company shortened its name in 2015 to R Taco to provide broader appeal as the concept continues to expand beyond its Dallas roots. Restaurants have a welcoming atmosphere with quirky décor, bold colors, an open ceiling and open kitchen, with natural and industrial lighting. Service is provided for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
