Celebrating all things made in America, Red Gold Tomatoes will be among the inaugural sponsors of Made in America 2019 Conference, October 3–6 in Indianapolis, Indiana. The event will showcase American products and manufacturers.
“We take pride in our partnership with America farm families who grow all of our tomato products for the foodservice industry and our 1,300 Red Gold employees,” says David Halt, Red Gold’s vice president for Foodservice. “It’s important that our company has been committed to serving the freshest, best-tasting tomato products in the world from right here in the heart of our country for more than 75 years.”
Red Gold is America’s largest privately held producer of fresh canned tomatoes and food products. Founded in 1942 to provide food for US Soldiers in WWII, Red Gold has grown to become a leading provider of tomatoes and tomato-based condiments to foodservice operators and retail consumers in the U.S. Red Gold offers foodservice products under its own Red Gold as well as Redpack prepared sauces, Sacramento Premium Tomato Juice and Huy Fong Hot Chili Sauce Ketchup. Innovation through product manufacturing techniques, logistics and sustainability practices makes the Elwood, Indiana-based company a model within the food industry.
“This is first-ever event of its kind to champion American-made products and manufacturing on a national level,” says Mark Andol, founder of Made in America Store.
The Made in America movement began in 1998 when entrepreneur Don Buckner attempted to find several American-made products online but was unable to do so. Frustrated, he took matters into his own hands, purchasing and began his movement by founding MadeInTheUSA.com. The three-day conference will include an array of notable speakers and exhibits from U.S. manufacturers nationwide.
“We are proud of our heritage and ability to stay focused on its three pillars of success, which includes quality, service, and value,” says Tim Ingle, Red Gold’s Senior vice president.
