Red Mango awarded a master license agreement to Compass Group North America to open an undisclosed number of Red Mango stores in Compass-managed properties over the next 10 years.

Compass Group will open the first Red Mango location at Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York, on August 15.

“Introducing Red Mango to one of New York’s largest private colleges is a terrific debut to this new agreement and demonstrates the incredible potential that exists for similar markets across the country,” says James Franks, vice president of franchising for Red Mango. One of a growing number of Red Mango sites on or near colleges and universities, Franks expects consumer demand to continue rising as master license agreements compliment the franchise network to add locations in quick succession.

The Red Mango store at Hofstra on 100 Campus Drive will feature full service and Red Mango’s menu of all-natural, nonfat frozen yogurt rich in probiotics, as well as toppings, fresh-fruit smoothies, parfaits, and iced teas.

“By partnering with Red Mango, Compass Group is again demonstrating its commitment to bring best in class brands to its clients,” says Tracy Vessillo, vice president of Retail Innovations for Compass Group North America. “The appeal of Red Mango’s products and nutritional attributes are of particular interest to Compass Group’s higher education and healthcare clients, as administrators and families are increasingly demanding food that is both great tasting and good for you.”

Compass Group is a foodservice management and support services company. It operates in several industries including higher education, corporate dining, healthcare, restaurants, sports, entertainment arenas, and more.

As a Master Licensee, Compass Group has been awarded nonexclusive rights to open stores under the Red Mango brand subject to Red Mango’s approval. The 10-year agreement also includes options for renewal.
