Bored Cuban, the first cutting-edge NFT inspired Cuban Fast Casual Restaurant, is set to officially open its doors on February 15, 2024. Situated on Le Jeune Road in the heart of Miami, this exciting new establishment is shaking up traditional Miami-style Cuban cuisine with a modern twist, perfect for both locals and tourists seeking something unique and innovative.

What makes Bored Cuban special is that it isn’t just a restaurant; it represents a unique blend of creative cuisine and digital art. The concept for Bored Cuban, the brainchild of Eric Castellanos, who is renowned for his successful Latin Cafe 2000 restaurants, is inspired by the Bored Ape NFT collection from the Bored Ape Yacht Club. Castellanos aims to blend his family’s Cuban heritage with the dynamic culture that is uniquely Miami. He has innovatively integrated this digital art trend into his new dining concept. “I wanted a mascot that embodied the spirit of our community and the essence of Cuban cuisine,” Castellanos remarked, referencing his Bored Ape named Manolo, a laid-back character donning a guayabera – the traditional Cuban shirt.

Bored Cuban offers a delightful breakfast and dynamic all-day menu daily from 7 am to 9 pm. For breakfast, the menu offers traditional Cuban staples found at a classic “ventanita,” such as croquetas, empanadas, and tostadas. Adding a creative twist, the menu also features specialty signature items like its ape-inspired Monkey and Banana Nut Breads. The gourmet selection extends to pastelitos and a unique Cuban-style Pop Tart made with guava, cream cheese, topped with condensed milk icing, both made in house. A variety of açaí bowls, and classic breakfast sandwiches completes their breakfast deliciousness.

Among the highlights of the all-day menu are the signature “Pixas,” a playful nod to Miami’s local lingo for pizzas or flatbreads. These Cuban-inspired flatbreads showcase the perfect marriage of traditional flavors with a modern twist. Standout pixa choices include the Cubano Pixa, a tantalizing combination of ham, roasted pork, cheese, mustard sauce and sliced pickles, and the Lechon Pixa, featuring grilled shredded pork in a mojo sauce, chimichurri sauce, diced sweet plantains, and mozzarella cheese on a perfectly toasted flatbread, offering a harmonious blend of sweet, savory, and tangy flavors.

Diners seeking customization will delight in the “Build Your Pixa” option, offering a wide array of bases and toppings to suit every taste. In addition to the exceptional pixa offerings, Bored Cuban presents a diverse selection of Cuban and chicken sandwiches, wraps, and flavorful bowls, providing something for every palate. For those craving comfort, Bored Cuban offers classic favorites such as black bean soup, alongside an irresistible side option of mac and cheese.

In a nod to its digital art inspiration, Bored Cuban proudly introduces the Bored Combo, a sophisticated spin on a “Happy Meal”. Encased in a limited edition Bored Cuban box, this adult-friendly combo features a signature sandwich, savory plantain chips, and a refreshing soda, offering a taste of nostalgia with a modern twist.

Bored Cuban’s diverse drink menu boasts an array of signature Batidos and Smoothies, such as the Chunky Monkey, a blend of chocolate, banana, and peanut butter, and the Cafe Mocha-Tido, a decadent combo of Cuban coffee with chocolate ice cream and condensed milk. More traditional beverages such as Cafecitos, available hot or iced, alongside Mexican sodas, freshly brewed sweet watermelon tea, or fresh Guava lemonade round out the beverage offering.
