Rex’s Chicken Franchise System, LLC announced an opening for the newest flagship “Upscale QSR” Original Rex’s Chicken for August 24 in the Tulsa, Oklahoma suburb of Bixby. The Muscogee “Creek “ Nation’s Muscogee Nation Business Enterprise (MNBE) division signed a master franchise agreement in 2013 to expand Original Rex’s Chicken into 36 states in the U.S.

The new location in Bixby, Oklahoma is the first of 3 corporate stores the MNBE plans to open in Oklahoma. Current plans call for rapid expansion into Texas, Georgia, Florida, and across Oklahoma.

“Our pipeline of new Original Rex’s Chicken franchisees is growing weekly and we are so encouraged, we have hosted eight new groups in the last four days in Tulsa,” says David Rutkauskas, Rex’s CEO. “They get what we are doing and love our product. We are clearly attracting quality groups who have impressive experience.”

The newest Original Rex’s Chicken location is a 3200 square feet free standing location co-branded with Edmond, Oklahoma-based Jimmy’s Egg and features drive thru, digital menu boards, interactive self serve ordering kiosks, smart phone ordering and always fresh / never frozen Rex’s Chicken.

Rex’s updated menu has been developed by Camille Rutkauskas, David’s wife and current president of Tulsa—based Camille’s Sidewalk Cafe.

The new menu features Original Bite—Size Rex’s Chicken, Rex’s Chicken Tenders, Rex’s Sandwiches, Rex’s salads, Cream Smoothies, Oklahoma Cole slaw, and much more. Founded in 1975 in Oklahoma , Original Rex’s Chicken was reborn when David Rutkauskas, Rex’s CEO obtained the rights in 2008 after the last Rex’s closed in 1999.

“We are gratified, proud, blessed, and fired up for the future of Original Rex’s Chicken,” Rutkauskas says.
