Rita’s Introduces New Watermelon Flavor for Summer

Rita’s Italian Ice is celebrating its “Summer of Fun” with a new flavor, Watermelon Chip Cream Ice.

Rita’s announced it will kick off summer with the 3^rd Annual First Day of Summer event on Saturday, June 21. Rita’s will be scooping regular sizes of its Italian Ice for $2, or guests can enjoy a regular size signature Gelati, a layering of Italian Ice and Frozen Custard, for $3.

“You won’t believe the delicious refreshment of Rita’s new Watermelon Chip Cream Ice until you try it,” says Laura Lazar, Rita’s senior vice president of marketing. “We welcome everyone to stop by today and try our twist on a classic summer fruit flavor and celebrate the First Day of Summer with Rita’s on June 21."

Rita’s Summer Selfie Photo Contest runs from June 21^st through August 23^rd. Rita’s fans are encouraged to capture group selfies at Rita’s and submit photos on Facebook and Instagram using the hashtag #RitasSummerSelfie for a chance to win. Winners will be chosen weekly to win Rita’s gift cards, and a grand prize winner will be selected to win a Samsung NX Mini Flip Screen “Selfie” Camera.

All summer long, guests can create their very own signature Frozen Lemonade by mixing their favorite Rita’s Italian Ice flavor with Alex’s Lemonade Italian Ice for a personalized treat.
