Royal Capital Corp. Becomes Church's Chicken's Largest Franchisee

    Atlanta, GA—June 20, 2002—Dow Jones Newservice reported today that Royal Capital Corp. has become the largest franchisee of Church's Chicken by purchasing fifty-seven additional restaurants in the Houston / Beaumont, Texas, markets from Church's Chicken.

    As a result of the deal, Royal Capital now owns one hundred and eleven units of Church's Chicken. The company has also signed on to develop forty more stores over the next few years.

    Executives at Church's Chicken, a division of AFC Enterprises Inc. , told Dow Jones that sale "follows its strategy of converting hundreds of its company-owned and operated restaurants into franchise units, while retaining a smaller number of restaurants…models for the entire system."
