Rush Bowls opened in Raleigh-Durham International Airport. The new 737-square-foot store is located inside Terminal Two and is the first of many that the brand hopes to open in airports across the country. The airport location will serve a partial menu of its signature blended fruit and vegetable bowls and smoothies.
“Rush Bowls is expanding to airports where we can provide food options dedicated to health and wellness,” says founder and CEO Andrew Pudalov. “Rush Bowls is the ideal airport restaurant because it provides filling and delicious healthy meals that are easy to travel with and easy to eat on-the-go. Our diverse menu caters to almost all dietary needs including gluten-free, vegetarian/vegan, low-carb and keto. We are growing our presence in airports around the country over the next several years and know it is a niche in the marketplace that we can fill perfectly.”
The new airport location is licensed and operated by Areas, a global leader in food, beverage, and travel retail. The corporation specializes in providing culinary experiences to customers at airports in 12 countries, and has over 1,925 restaurants in operation across the United States and Europe.
Founded in 2004, Rush Bowls serves meals-on-the-go in the form of bowls made from blended fruits and vegetables, then topped with organic granola and honey, and other nutritious ingredients. Customers can choose from 40 bowls and smoothies on the menu, made with all-natural ingredients like acai, strawberries, and other delicious ingredients.
“Rush Bowls was created initially to provide healthy meal options for college students. Our popularity quickly grew beyond the campus into surrounding communities, where residents were also seeking innovative, nutritious alternatives,” says Pudalov. “Our wholesome, all-natural offerings taste so delicious, you may forget it’s also good for you. We are excited about our explosive growth and look forward to further expanding Rush Bowls as a national player in the health food market.”
The local expansion plans come at a time when Rush Bowls continues to rapidly expand its national footprint. Today, there are 26 locations open and operating in 15 states, with more than 120 additional Rush Bowls’ in various stages of development across 20 states.
