Rush Bowls opened in Portland on August 29. Blended with protein and vitamins, Rush Bowls are a fresh, healthful meal for those on the go.

Located at 2085 NW Allie Ave Suite 330 in Hillsboro, the new store is owned by Adebola Adewumi. This will be the first of three locations Adewumi will bring to the Portland market.

“I am so pleased to have the opportunity to bring Rush Bowls to PDX and introduce the unique concept to locals here who, like me, are passionate about personal well-being,” says Adewumi. “Being able to have a positive impact on the surrounding community is important to me. I wanted to pursue my passion for health and fitness while making a difference and helping change people’s lives.”

Prior to franchising with Rush Bowls, Adewumi worked for Intel for 14 years and he also opened a mobile fitness training franchise, called GYMGUYZ. He spends much of his time in the community volunteering with local homeless shelters, serving as a middle school tutor, and a high school football announcer.

As a lifelong health and fitness enthusiast, Adewumi loved the idea of Rush Bowls and saw Portland as the perfect market. “I saw the demand for a vibrant, health-focused, quick-service restaurant in Portland—when I found Rush Bowls, it was a no-brainer,” says Adewumi.

Founded in 2004, Rush Bowls offers meals crafted from all-natural fruit, topped with organic granola and honey, and blended with protein, vitamins and other nutritious ingredients that taste delicious while promoting a healthy lifestyle. Customers can choose from over 40 signature bowls or all-natural smoothies made with fruit and vegetable bases, including acai, kale, and avocado.

“Rush Bowl’s top priorities are 100 percent all-natural nutrition as well as diverse and delicious options of bowls and smoothies. This makes Rush Bowls different from other grab-and-go concepts,” founder and CEO Andrew Pudalov says. “Rush Bowls’ meals are crafted from the finest fruits and vegetables, with fresh toppings like organic granola, hand-grinded peanut butter and jam made in-house to ensure the highest quality and taste for our customers.”

Over the past 15 years, Rush Bowls has cultivated a loyal following with its menu specializing in healthy, all-natural, fruit-blended meals-in-a-bowl for those on the go. Bowls are also available in vegan, gluten-free, soy-free, and dairy free options, and anything can be custom-made to cater to all dietary needs.

“We are very excited to see Adebola open our first location in Portland and continue our expansion in the Pacific Northwest,” adds Pudalov. “We are incredibly proud of Rush Bowls’ growth, and we are excited to build a foundation in Portland.”

The local expansion plans come at a time when Rush Bowls continues to rapidly expand its national footprint. Today, there are 23 locations open and operating in 13 states and more than 120 additional Rush Bowls’ in various stages of development across 20 states.
