Saladworks, the nation’s first and largest fresh-tossed salad franchise concept, is opening its fourth California location in The Plaza LaFayette Shopping Center, 13041 Newport Ave. in Tustin, California.

This is the fourth of 15 locations planned for California. Sacramento Airport was Saladworks’ first endeavor, followed by the Costa Mesa Saladworks that opened in early 2011. The Village at Orange Saladworks followed these two, opening just a few months ago.

The Saladworks brand continues to expand its presence on the West Coast with additional stores opening in Seattle, Texas, and Arizona.

Karen Weber is no stranger to the food business. In her 25 years with Trader Joe’s, she managed several locations and understands the importance of quality, service, and cleanliness in the industry.

“When I read about the first set of stores coming to California, I thought, this is me,” Weber says. “I was looking into a lot of different concepts at the time, but I couldn’t get behind them. I didn’t want to get involved with a franchise that didn’t provide healthy food to its customers. To me, Saladworks is the perfect fit.”

The Saladworks concept was born in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, more than 25 years ago. Although it’s a long way from Cherry Hill to Orange County, California, the brand is leaving its mark and making fans across the country.

“We are thrilled to open our fourth California location. The success of our California operators is just the tip of the iceberg for our West Coast expansion,” says chairman and CEO John Scardapane. "Tustin Saladworks is one of more than 25 locations that we plan to open in 2012. Karen Weber, with her experience, tenacity, and commitment to customer service, is an integral part of our growth.”
