Salsarita’s Announces “Come Do the Salsa” Contest

Salsarita’s, the Fresh Mexican Cantina with locations across the United States, is launching a new salsa this year – and guests will have the chance to name it. Starting January 15, Salsarita’s guests can submit a creative name for the restaurant chain’s new hot salsa and enter to win a six-night, all expense paid trip to Cancun.

To enter or learn more information, guests can visit their local Salsarita’s or go to the website. One lucky winner will win a trip for two to the Hard Rock Hotel in Cancun. The grand prize includes roundtrip airfare, six nights of resort accommodations, all meals, snacks and beverages, non-motorized water sports, nightly entertainment, and all taxes and gratuities. The trip’s value is estimated at $4,000.
The new hot salsa is made with a base of roasted tomatillos and four peppers – chiles de arbol, chipotles, habaneros, and serranos. This addition will complement Salsarita’s existing menu of five flavorful selections that each add a different dimension of flavor and heat. Current offerings include Pico de Gallo, a chunky mild salsa; Roja, with a complex flavor accented by pickled jalapenos; Tomatillo, made with roasted tomatillos and Serrano peppers; Pueblo Corn, a fresh white corn accented with black beans; and Charro, featuring roasted tomatoes and a vinegar base.
“Salsa is now America’s most popular condiment,” says Salsarita’s CEO Phil Friedman. “Our brand has always been a leader in salsas and as customers’ taste buds become more adventurous we are going to offer them flavors they’ve never had before.”
Founded in 2000 in Charlotte, North Carolina, Salsarita’s offers Mexican favorites such as signature Casaritos, Mexican pizza-inspired Cantizzas, and an assortment of tacos, quesadillas, and nachos made fresh to order with an extensive selection of proteins, toppings, and fillings, as well as six flavorful house-made salsas. The company has more than 80 franchised locations in 19 states. Two restaurants are company-owned.
Salsarita’s expects to have at least 10 new restaurants and four to six franchise agreements signed before the end of 2013, with long-range projections calling for over 300 locations nationwide over the next several years.
