Winning an award for your tea product one time is nice, consistently winning awards is the sign of sustainable quality. For S&D Coffee and Tea, winning iced tea awards has become a regular event. The latest recognition recently came when the World Tea Expo organization awarded S&D teas two first prizes, and a Best Value in the 2013 North American Tea Championship (held each year in Las Vegas).

 

The first-prize awards to S&D included: Foodservice Sweetened and Unsweetened for Teafinity Natural Brewed Iced Tea in Bag-in-Box. Additionally, S&D Coffee & Tea was awarded the Best Value award for S&D Quality Blend Iced Tea.

 

To choose the award-winning recipients of the North American Tea Championship, a judging panel of professional cuppers assessed each submission through blind organoleptic analysis of the following characteristics: flavor, body, color, clarity, and balance. The ratings of each characteristic were then used to calculate an overall numerical value on a 100-point scale, and winners were determined by rank.

 

Joe Doyle, Director of Tea Procurement and Tea Products for S&D Coffee & Tea recognized the value of the awards and the effort that went into making them happen.
