As part of Shake Shack’s collab series Now Serving, Shake Shack’s culinary team has joined forces with esteemed executive chef Junghyun “JP” Park and his team at Atoboy to create a one-of-a-kind, limited-time menu item: the Atoburger. The shrimp burger, which is topped with the same fermented pepper sauce featured on the Atoboy menu, will be available in limited quantities for one day only on Thursday, May 6, at Shake Shack’s Madison Square Park location – just a few blocks from the NoMad-based Atoboy.

“I met Chef JP about four years ago at a Shake Shack event in Madison Square Park, where at the time he was just about to open Atoboy a few blocks away. I visited soon after and was completely blown away by his incredible food, hospitality and style – the first of many visits to come,” said Mark Rosati, Culinary Director of Shake Shack. “I couldn’t be more thrilled and honored to bring it all back to our Madison Square Park flagship Shack serving the Atoboy Shrimp Burger for one day in support of an equally incredible cause.”

Proceeds from the one day collab will be donated directly to Heart of Dinner, a non-profit that supports Asian restaurants in an effort to combat food insecurity and isolation within New York City’s elderly Asian American community.

The Atoburger features a shrimp burger topped with a crispy hash brown, Atoboy’s Grenada pepper sauce, shaved red onions and butter lettuce, stacked on a toasted potato bun. Chef Park has seen the increasing popularity of shrimp burgers in Korea and wanted to bring a version of the dish to Shake Shack and Atoboy fans in New York. The Atoburger is only the second time Shake Shack has featured seafood on its menu.

“I am thrilled to be partnering with Shake Shack to present our Atoburger, inspired by the contemporary trend of shrimp burgers in Korea, with added elements such as the crispy hash brown and Atoboy’s hot sauce,” says Chef Junghyun Park. “We’re grateful for the philanthropic core of the Now Serving series to highlight the amazing work of Heart of Dinner, providing food security to seniors in the local Asian American community.”

Priced at $7.49, the Atoburger will be available for purchase in-store, through pickup on Shake Shack’s website, or delivery and pickup via the Shack app in the Madison Square Park Delivery zone. The first 40 guests to purchase an Atoburger in-store will also receive a bottle of the exclusive Atoboy Grenada pepper sauce.

The partnership for this limited-time offering is part of Shake Shack’s “Now Serving” series, where the brand is collaborating with local chefs across America in an effort to give back and support local organizations as well as create unique and delicious menu items. The series highlights Shake Shack’s mission to Stand for Something Good, from its commitment to delivering the ultimate guest experience and sourcing of premium ingredients to supporting and investing in the people and communities around the world.
