As a thank you to employees for what was one the hardest years on the hospitality industry, Shake Shack has paid its team nearly $6 million in additional pay this year, including a $250-$400 holiday bonus for all hourly team members.

Employees will receive this holiday bonus by the end of the year. Shake Shack employs nearly 7,500 people in the U.S. Earlier in the pandemic, Shake Shack instituted 10 percent premium pay as a thank you to employees on the front lines starting from the end of April 2020 and throughout the summer.

Shake Shack’s mission is to Stand for Something Good, from its commitment to delivering the ultimate guest experience and sourcing of premium ingredients to supporting and investing in its people and communities around the world. Since the original Shack opened in 2004 in NYC’s Madison Square Park, the company has expanded to more than 300 locations in 30 U.S. States and the District of Columbia, including more than 100 international locations.
