Shoney’s Piles Up Pumpkin Pancakes

Pumpkin is the undisputed flavor of autumn, and Shoney’s is ready to pile on—with free pancakes, that is.

The restaurant is offering free Pumpkin Spice Pancakes, made-to-order with any of its Legendary Breakfast Buffet purchases for a limited time at participating restaurants. Shoney’s will also feature Pumpkin Spice Coffee and Pumpkin Pie, whole or by the slice.

“Fresh food, quality, and value are on Shoney’s menu year-round, but we always listen to our guests and give them what they want,” says David Davoudpour, chairman and CEO of Shoney’s. “Our guests are asking for one thing this season: pumpkin. And with three new pumpkin offerings, our guests can ‘taste the season’ right here at Shoney’s.”

Shoney’s will feature the following through November 28: Pumpkin Spice Pancakes, including two pancakes, topped with Pumpkin Spice whipped topping, garnished with cinnamon sugar and drizzled with warm syrup; Pumpkin Spice Coffee infused with Pumpkin Pie Syrup, topped with whipped topping, and garnished with cinnamon sugar; and Pumpkin Pie topped with whipped topping and garnished with cinnamon.

Shoney’s Legendary Breakfast Bar, with more than 30 items, starts at $6.99. Pumpkin Spice Coffee starts at $2.09. Shoney’s Pumpkin Pie starts at $2.49 per slice and $9.99 for a whole pie. Price and participation may vary.

“We’re bringing the best flavors of the season to Shoney’s, which has been America’s dinner table for 66 years.” Davoudpour says. “With free Pumpkin Spice pancakes on top of our already legendary breakfast bar, it simply doesn’t get any better.”

Since acquiring the American eatery in 2007, Davoudpour revitalized the southern-style restaurant chain, which was one of the first family casual dining concepts in the U.S. when it began serving guests 66 years ago.

The first place he started was the kitchen, where he recruited a five-star restaurant executive chef in Will Eudy to bring world-class flavor to guests at a Shoney’s value. Eudy, Shoney’s executive chef and director of R&D, brings a long-standing passion for seasonal favorites to Shoney’s.

“Pumpkin is always more popular at this time of year and it’s more popular this year than it’s ever been,” Eudy says. “So we decided create some unforgettable items to satisfy our guests’ seasonal craving. We’re especially proud of the Pumpkin Spice Pancakes, which are just perfect. Our guests will taste freshness in every made-to-order fluffy bite.”
