Slapfish will open its newest location in Lehi. The first location in Utah is slated to open its doors at 3320 N. Digital Drive at Thanksgiving Point on March 10 as it continues spreading its brand of fresh, refreshingly responsible seafood.

Known for inventive dishes like the Clobster Grilled Cheese and Chowder Fries, the modern seafood shack has created a niche in the marketplace, serving up fresh, well-managed seafood in a fast casual setting. Catering to health-conscious individuals, Slapfish Lehi offers an array of heart-healthy dishes including the Epic Burrito, Baja Mahi Sandwich, Simply Grilled Fish Bowl, seasonal “Ocean Veggies,” and more. Boasting a full menu of dishes from under the sea, guests reap the numerous health benefits of seafood with every bite.

“Salt Lake City residents will soon discover that Slapfish is the answer to all their crave-worthy seafood wishes,” says Chef Andrew Gruel, founder and CEO of Slapfish. “With our menu of seasonally rotating, gourmet dishes in a relaxed setting, guests experience the quality of fine dining with the cost and convenience of faster food. Also setting us apart is the fact that we only serve the freshest fish and shellfish sourced from responsible suppliers of seafood.”

Slapfish Lehi is owned and operated by a Salt Lake City restaurant group owned by Steve Hawes and Darryl Neider of HN Capital, a private equity firm with more than 10 years of experience expanding Five Guys across four states, including Utah, California, and Oklahoma. As the first major franchise group to partner with Slapfish, Hawes, Neider, and their team of established restaurateurs look forward to offering healthy, gourmet seafood options to the Utah market, while enhancing the local dining scene. With the booming population and demand for quality, convenient offerings in the area, the greater Salt Lake market is a natural fit for the first domestic restaurant opening outside of California.

“Slapfish is defining the seafood market, and we’re excited to bring a fresh new concept into Utah unlike anything else currently available,” adds Darryl Neider, owner and Principal of HN Capital. “Residents seek fresh, high-quality dining options, and we are confident that locals will quickly fall in love with the brand just as we did.”

Founded by Chef Gruel in 2011, Slapfish started as a food truck serving boat-to-plate seafood and quickly grew into eight brick-and-mortar locations, with upcoming openings in South Korea and the U.K. this year. With plans to open up to eight locations throughout Utah, and at least 60 across the Intermountain West region and Texas over the next ten years, the HN Capital team looks forward to making Slapfish a household name in partnership with Gruel.

To celebrate the opening of the vibrant new location, Slapfish Lehi invites locals to a grand opening celebration on Friday, March 10, and Saturday, March 11 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Customers are invited to indulge in the remarkable seafood offerings (also great menu items for the kids), and meet the restaurant innovator behind the concept, Chef Andrew Gruel. Additionally, free gifts and menu items will be given to the first 100 customers each grand opening day, including Lobster Rolls on Friday and Lobster Taquitos on Saturday.
