Slim Chickens announced today it will be opening an express location at Pennsylvania State University (Penn State) on the University Park campus. Located inside the HUB-Robeson Center, a popular campus destination for students, faculty, staff and visitors, the new eatery is slated to open for the fall 2021 semester.
The “better chicken” brand is giving Penn State students something new to crave. Slim Chickens prides itself on its cooked-to-order fresh food and strong devoted fanbase, also known as “Slimthusiasts.” The menu offers a variety of affordable lunch options, ranging from cooked-to-order chicken tenders, fresh chicken sandwiches and house-favorite chicken wraps to flavorful signature dipping sauces and sides.
“Our menu is a sure college dining favorite,” says Jackie Lobdell, vice president of franchise development at Slim Chickens. “From our hand-breaded tenders, students will get a taste of southern comfort food at University Park. We know that Slim’s will be a welcome addition and that Nittany Lions will have a new, fresh choice on campus.”
“Slim Chickens will be a perfect complement to the national brands and Penn State proprietary favorites at the HUB-Robeson Center,” says Vince Raco, interim director for retail dining at University Park. “The menu will offer quality and value our guests expect, as well as the essential speed of service at lunch to satisfy our customers’ express dining needs.”
Slim Chickens will be opening several additional college campus locations this year, along with over 50 traditional restaurant locations.
“We are excited to be partnering with a dynamic, growing company that focuses on fresh, delicious ingredients and has a strong commitment to hospitality,” says Raco.
