Slim Chickens, a leader in the “better chicken” segment of fast-casual restaurants, will continue expansion of its 100% all-natural, fresh chicken and unrivaled flavor in South Carolina, with its newest opening at 1530 S Church St. in Florence on March 4th.

With more than 50 years of combined restaurant experience, Larry Chandler and his nephew Jody Chandler are embarking on a new adventure and opening their second Slim Chickens location in Florence. Born and raised in the eastern part of South Carolina, they recently decided to expand their portfolio with Slim Chickens after experiencing the delicious food and southern hospitality firsthand, which is exactly what they strive for at their restaurants. 

Larry has a humble respect for local business owners in Florence, but he believes Slim Chickens will easily stand out in the restaurant scene and is very excited to bring the concept to the local area. 

“This is our second Slim Chickens location and we’ve really watched people fall in love with it,” says Larry. “We have different offerings than our competitors, like chicken and waffles, 17 different sauces, and crafted desserts. We’re different, and that’s what the community is going to find.”

Aside from bringing its famous, delicious fried chicken and Southern-inspired sides to the area, the new Slim Chickens location in Florence will also make a positive economic impact with over 75 new jobs anticipated for creation in the community.

The Florence opening is one piece in Slim Chickens’ larger growth story. Since its founding in 2003, the brand has celebrated over 200 locations opened and a fanatical following in 34 U.S. states, as well as international locations in the United Kingdom, with an overall goal of opening 600 restaurants by 2025. In South Carolina alone, the brand has already grown tremendously to four locations.

Slim Chickens also offers fresh sandwiches, salads, wraps and its signature chicken and waffles. To offset the savory side of the menu, rotating desserts served in Mason jars are also available.
