Slim Chickens, a leader in the “better chicken” segment of fast-casual restaurants, will continue expansion of its 100% all-natural, fresh chicken and unrivaled flavor in Indiana, by opening Indiana’s first location at 2901 North Western Avenue, West Lafayette IN 47908 on 2/7.

Al Cabrera, who was the largest Hispanic Burger King franchisee, is growing his restaurant portfolio, but this time with a different cuisine. He is gearing up to open the first Slim Chickens in West Lafayette, IN right at the heart of Purdue University. However, Cabrera’s openings will not stop there. Cabrera and his cousin, Rodolfo Dumenigo, through their company Dos Primos Capital Group have recently signed the largest franchise agreement ever for Slim Chickens, creating a 71-unit deal to develop the fast-growing chicken concept across Indiana, Illinois and Florida.

Cabrera has known Sam Rothschild, the brand’s chief operating officer, for 20 years, but ultimately signed on because he believes in the brand. “We are looking forward to bringing a sense of southern hospitality to the students at Purdue University. We plan on staying open until midnight to ensure that students can use the space and enjoy fresh, quality food after a long day” says Renee Boiling with Slim Chickens.

Aside from bringing its famous, delicious fried chicken and Southern-inspired sides to the area, the new Slim Chickens location in West Lafayette, IN will also make a positive economic impact with over 75 new jobs anticipated for creation in the community.

The West Lafayette, IN is the first Slim Chickens to open in the state, making this opening a monumental piece in Slim Chickens’ larger growth story. Since its founding in 2003, the brand has celebrated over 200 openings in 32 states.

“Our freshly made southern dishes and homemade recipes create loyal guests who feel good about the food they’re eating and we’re proud to be able to grow our loyal fan base into the West Lafayette market,” says Slim Chickens Chief Operating Officer Sam Rothschild.

By focusing on providing only 100% fresh, all-natural chicken tenders that are buttermilk-marinated, hand-breaded and always cooked fresh-to-order, the brand has committed

to providing a “better chicken” experience that can’t be found anywhere else. In addition, a choice of 17 house made sauces adds exceptional flavor and has earned admiration from both guests and critics alike. Slim Chickens also offers fresh sandwiches, salads, wraps and its signature chicken and waffles. To offset the savory side of the menu, rotating desserts served in Mason jars are also available.
