Smithfield’s Partners with FanBase for E-mail Marketing

    FanBase LLC, a North Carolina–based startup launched in September 2013, announced that Smithfield’s Chicken ‘N Bar-B-Q is using its CRM + E-mail Marketing application to expand its online capabilities. FanBase’s e-mail marketing solutions will enable Smithfield’s to grow its customer database and send targeting e-mails to customers.

    “E-mail marketing is a strong piece of our marketing strategy, so choosing a platform that works for us is very important,” says Richard Averitte, vice president of operations. “We've grown past the basic e-mail newsletter platforms widely used and need a more full-featured product to help us better manage our database. We're looking forward to expanding our fan base, and implementing a larger e-mail marketing strategy that will better serve our customers.”

    The original Smithfield’s Chicken ‘N Bar-B-Q opened in downtown Smithfield in 1964 and has grown to over 30 restaurants serving Eastern North Carolina–style (or vinegar-based) barbecue, potato salad, cole slaw, fried chicken, and sweetened iced tea.
