Lactalis Retail Dairy Inc. announced that the Sorrento brand will transition to Galbani. As Sorrento brand products are formulated to meet the consistent quality demands of the foodservice market, they will remain available to foodservice customers.

“Our retail products are not the same as our foodservice products, and the products our foodservice customers depend on will not change,” says Timothy Wellenzohn, senior brand manager for Lactalis Culinary, a division within Lactalis Retail Dairy Inc. “The Sorrento brand is an important part of the Lactalis Culinary foodservice portfolio, and we plan continued strong support of the brand.”

Sorrento branded cheese available to foodservice include: Sorrento Ricotta, Sorrento Mascarpone, Sorrento Blue, Sorrento Mozzarella, Sorrento Italian Shreds, Sorrento Other Shreds, Sorrento Romano and Parmesan, Sorrento Provolone, Sorrento Danish, and Sorrento Romano.

Lactalis Culinary is the foodservice operation of Lactalis American Group Inc., a U.S. subsidiary of Parmalat S.p.A.

Parmalat S.p.A. is an Italian public entity majority-owned by France-based Groupe Lactalis—a global producer of cheese. Lactalis Culinary, marketer of the Galbani, President, and Sorrento brands in the foodservice sector, brings a range of European-style cheese and marketing support that helps clients optimize value.
