Soy just got more social, with the launch of the #SoyInspired national public education campaign by The Soyfoods Council, in partnership with the Soy for Life Foundation. Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Google+ are just a few of the ways that soy fans are being invited to reach friends and colleagues through the online and social media communities.

The #SoyInspired project encourages social media influencers to help spread the exciting word that soy is a lean, complete plant-based protein. In fact, soy is higher in protein and quality than all other legumes, deriving 35 to 38 percent of its calories from protein, compared to approximately 20 to 30 percent in other legumes, according to The Soyfoods Council. Soy also provides heart-healthy fat and is a good source of both essential fatty acids.

Through #SoyInspired, the Soyfoods Council is sharing blog posts and social media activity providing examples of the virtues of soy food. Members of the #SoyInspired community get top priority for reviewing new products, too.

The #SoyInspired educational campaign is a multi-faceted one. The Soyfoods Council and the Soy for Life Foundation encourage members of online and social media communities to write a blog post; share infographics with their Twitter followers; create soy recipe videos to share via Instagram, YouTube, or blogs; or host a #SoyInspired Google+ Hangout. The Soyfoods Council offers social media influencers a variety of resource material, infographics, and recipes for this educational effort.
