The newest release of SpeedLine restaurant point of sale software maximizes delivery revenue with accurate fees and zones.
“Restaurant operators leave thousands of dollars behind each year in delivery fees charged inconsistently, or set too low to recover expenses,” says SpeedLine marketing manager Jennifer Wiebe, “so this new release expands on the ability to set delivery zones and fees by drive time.”
The release allows restaurant operators to adjust zone boundaries by hand on a map—for zones and fees that reflect the true cost of delivery.
The new release also calculates driver mileage reimbursement based on best route in current traffic conditions—for accurate and equitable driver compensation with no room for driver abuse or argument. On top of that, operators can edit delivery zones and fees in seconds, at any time and at no cost, to adjust for new development, construction, or other factors.
“For chain operations, where customers may frequent more than one location, and where some locations may handle late-night delivery for stores that close early, sharing consistent zone information among locations is critical,” Wiebe says. “SpeedLine solves these problems with support for Google Keyhole Markup Language map files.”
Chains may define delivery zones using Google Maps, and then import a KML file and push updated zone boundaries and delivery fee information to the SpeedLine POS systems at all locations—or to all locations in a region.
