Spin! Pizza Spreads Through Kansas

Four high-profile Topeka, Kansas business and civic leaders have become the newest Spin! Neapolitan Pizza franchise, with plans to develop the award-winning concept throughout the state of Kansas. Top Spin LLC partners Brent Boles, Butch Eaton, Jim Klausman, and Greg Schwerdt plan to open the pizzerias in Topeka, Lawrence, Wichita and Manhattan, Kansas, over the next five years. The Top Spin LLC partners are Kansas natives who already have extensive business interests in all of those markets, including restaurants, and a shared commitment to civic and philanthropic leadership.

Spin! is known for its artisan food made from fresh ingredients without the gourmet price and eclectic, affordable premium wines. Spin!’s recipes are developed in collaboration with James Beard Award-winning Chef Michael Smith, who was named 2014 National Chef Innovator of the Year by the National Restaurant Association.

Top Spin LLC Managing Partner Boles says all the partners had frequently dined at Kansas City Spin! locations, loved the food, and believed the cities in which they have business and philanthropic interests would enthusiastically embrace Spin! “We all had the same thought regarding Spin! and wanted to share this unique dining experience with other markets,” Boles says. “Spin!’s product, service, culture, and management team made this a fantastic business opportunity as well as a fantastic opportunity for Topeka, Lawrence, Wichita, and Manhattan.”

Founded in 2005, Spin! has six locations in Greater Kansas City with three more under construction in the area, four locations under construction in Dallas, Texas, and franchises in California, Nebraska, North Dakota, and South Dakota.

Spin! Neapolitan Pizza is the second national concept created by Spin! partners Gail and Richard Lozoff, Edwin Brownell, and Michael Kramer, who also developed Bagel & Bagel, which became Einstein Bros. Bagels.

Brownell says the Top Spin partners are a great match for Spin! Neapolitan Pizza. “They have a proven record of success in business and they share our values and commitment to the local community,” he says.

“We all share a passion for superb food, outstanding customer service, and a great experience,” Partner Gail Lozoff says.

Spin! serves a diverse selection of hand-spun, stone-fired traditional thin crust, rustic whole wheat, and gluten-free pizzas, as well as an array of appetizers, homemade soups, salads with made-from-scratch dressings, small plates, signature Panini and Italian deli sandwiches, and gelato ice creams.
