Spin! Pizza Tests Bevy Of New Menu Items

Small plates with big tastes, shrimp dishes, appetizers, a new dip, and more sizes of wine and beer have be added on Spin! Neapolitan Pizza’s newly expanded menu in its hometown market. All the dishes were created by Spin Pizza’s chef partner Michael Smith, a James Beard Award-winning chef who also was named 2014 Chef Innovator of the Year by the National Restaurant Association.

After months of development and tweaking, shrimp is being introduced to Spin!’s menu in two dishes: Calabrian Shrimp Formaggi and Shrimp Scampi pizza. The Calabrian Shrimp Formaggi as well as the new Roasted Eggplant Parmigiana and Stuffed Mondo Pork Meatball are available as an appetizer, a side dish, or as a Mini Mia meal paired with a choice of salad or soup.

Spin!’s lemon ricotta and olive oil dip served with warm flatbread is another fresh addition to the menu. The dip replaces its artichoke and olive spread.

In addition to new dishes, Spin! has added larger sizes of both craft draft beers and red, white, and Chianti house wines by the glass. Along with a full carafe, Spin! now offers 9 oz. wines served in an Italian glass jelly jar that guests can pour at their leisure for $1 more than the 7 oz. size. Spin! will still offer its homemade red, white, and blood orange sangrias and popular rotating roster of premium bottled wines.

Spin!’s craft draft beers are now available in a 16 oz. serving and a new 22 oz. pour.

Spin!’s service style combines the convenience of traditional fast casual ordering in the restaurant’s lobby with an attentive full-service experience at the table. This particularly appeals to diners who want to control the speed of their meal without sacrificing service.

Rated number one by Zagat for Kansas City pizza and named best pizza by numerous local publications, Spin! has also received national and regional awards. Its Margherita Pizza was crowned one of the nation’s best dishes of the year by a trade magazine, and its architecture won Best of Show at the Mid America Design Awards.

Spin!’s new menu items will be tested in its hometown Greater Kansas City market before being added to the menus of its other locations. Founded in 2005, Spin! has six locations in the Greater Kansas City area with three more under construction, four under construction in Dallas, Texas, and franchises in California, Nebraska, North Dakota, and South Dakota.

This is the second national concept created by Spin! partners Gail and Richard Lozoff, Edwin Brownell, and Michael Kramer, who are experienced in large multi-unit expansion, franchising, and operations.
