Spring came early in most parts of the country, and Bruegger's is prepared. This week the fast casual chain will expand its menu with new freshly made salads: Mediterranean Mozzarella and Thai Peanut Chicken. The limited-time-only menu also features a new breakfast option, the Sea Salt & Cracked Pepper Bagel Egg Sandwich.
The Mediterranean Mozzarella salad is built on a bed of spring lettuce topped with fresh mozzarella, toasted almonds, and roasted red peppers with an authentic Spanish romesco dressing. A new flavor trend, “romesco is a classic Catalonian sauce packing an astonishing amount of flavor into such small acreage,” according to Amy Scattergood of the Los Angeles Times.
The Thai Peanut Chicken salad is made with grilled chicken, cucumbers, chopped peanuts, and a spicy Thai peanut dressing that offers yet another flavor punch.
Both the romesco and Thai peanut dressings are original recipes made fresh at all 300-plus Bruegger’s locations. The salads are available in both café and entrée sizes. At fewer than 500 calories, the café-size salads are a great low-calorie option.
Known for its time-tested New York-style bagels, Bruegger’s will also offer a new breakfast option, the Sea Salt and Cracked Pepper Egg Sandwich.
A twist on the bakery’s classic egg, cheese, and bacon sandwich, this version is Sea Salt & Cracked Pepper bagel. Guests can also choose to top their bagels with Bruegger’s new featured cream cheese flavor for spring, cucumber dill.
“For guests who like to season their eggs with sea salt and pepper, our new bagel is the perfect combination,” says Bruegger’s executive chef Philip Smith. “The savory combination is made with coarsely ground sea salt grains and milled black peppercorns for a great breakfast or lunch option.”
Rounding out this season’s featured items are three refreshing beverage choices. The featured coffee flavor, coconut, conjures thoughts of tropical destinations, while Bruegger’s classic and strawberry lemonade are back on the menu to signal the coming of spring.
