Subway Restaurants president and CEO Suzanne Greco announced the appointment of Joseph V. Tripodi as the brand’s global chief marketing officer. As CMO, Tripodi assumes global responsibility for the brand’s marketing, Corporate Social Responsibility, product quality and food safety, public relations, and research and development functions.

“Joe brings a wealth of experience leading global marketing organizations and initiatives for blue chip companies such as Coca-Cola, Seagram’s, MasterCard, and Allstate where he drove significant growth and brand value. I am pleased to announce his appointment and look forward to what he will bring to our customers and franchisees,” said Suzanne Greco, Subway president and CEO.

Tripodi served as chief marketing and commercial officer for the Coca-Cola Company for seven and a half years and under his stewardship Coca-Cola was recognized as the 2013 Cannes Creative Marketer of the Year and the 2011 Ad Age Marketer of the Year. Prior to joining Coca-Cola he was CMO for Allstate Insurance Company, The Bank of New York, Seagram Spirits & Wine, and MasterCard International.

Joe was honored as an inductee in the American Marketing Association Hall of Fame in 2014. He holds a Master Degree from the London School of Economics and an undergraduate degree in Economics from Harvard.
