Burger Lounge, the eco-conscious, fast-casual concept with 100 percent grass-fed beef burgers and vegetarian options, is bringing the turf to the surf with the opening of a new restaurant in Santa Monica, California, on March 13.

The restaurant will be the company’s ninth locale throughout San Diego and Los Angeles, and the third location to open in Los Angeles in less than a year and a half.

Two additional locations are slated to open in Del Mar and Brentwood, California, later this year. 

Burger Lounge—which was founded on the principle of always using fresh, 100 percent American single-source, grass-fed beef and sourcing high-quality ingredients and produce from vendors it knows and trusts—has partnered with the local chapter of Growing Greatfor the opening of its Santa Monica shop.

The nonprofit school garden and nutrition education organization is dedicated to inspiring children and adults to adopt healthy eating habits.

 On opening day, all proceeds from the sale of The Lounge Burgerwill be donated to the cause.

On Thursday, March 14, all proceeds from the sale of the vegetarian options at Burger Lounge—including the Organic Quinoa Veggie Burger, Fresh Vegetable Salad, andOrganic Quinoa Salad—will be donated.

“Growing Great’s mission is something that really resonates with the core of the Burger Lounge brand and our commitment to using the best ingredients available to offer our guests a healthier dining experience,” says Burger Lounge president and CEO J. Dean Loring. “We hope to build upon this partnership for the Santa Monica opening and continue working with Growing Great for their programs in the local community.” 

The Santa Monica location will open up shop with all of the Burger Lounge classics, including the signature Lounge Burger, Free Range Turkey Burger, and Quinoa Veggie Burger.

All burgers are served “Lounge Style” with crisp lettuce, fresh tomato, house-made Thousand Island dressing, organic American or White Cheddar cheese, and fresh or grilled onion.

Guests can opt for their burgers on a signature Lounge Bun, made with organic whole wheat and unbleached white flour with a hint of Blackstrap molasses; wrapped in fresh lettuce leaves; or on the restaurant’s new gluten-free bun for an extra 95 cents.

The Santa Monica restaurant will also open with the seasonal special grass-fed Elk Burger with jicama slaw, duck cracklings, and chipotle aioli that will be available during the months of March and April at all Burger Lounge locations.

To complement its burgers and salads, guests can dig into Burger Lounge’s twice-cooked french friesand light and crispy onion rings served with classic organic ketchup, house-made buttermilk ranch dressing, or house-made barbecue sauce.

Burger Lounge also uses Fair Trade, cane-sweetened fountain soda sourced from Maine Root, as well as four organic brewed iced teas.

Like all Burger Lounge locations, Santa Monica will offer local draft beers on tap and wine by the glass.

To cap off their meal, guests can indulge in a hand-dipped Lounge Shake made with chocolate or vanilla Dreyer’s Ice Cream and a house-made Sea Salt Caramel Brownie.

The Lounge Float, available with Root Beer, Coke, Fanta Orange, or Ginger Beer, rounds out the sweet offerings. 

The 2,200-square-foot restaurant will feature 80 seats inside and 48 seats on the adjacent enclosed patio for diners who wish to enjoy their grass-fed beef alfresco-style.
