Swig’s 5th annual Save The Cups campaign, which raises money for breast cancer patients, smashed its 2024 goal to raise $300,000 in one month. This October, the Home of the Original Dirty Soda raised more than $364,000, bringing Save The Cups’ five-year total to over $1 million.

Save The Cups is not just another give-back campaign — it’s a personal cause for Swig founder Nicole Tanner. She battled breast cancer in 2009 with no insurance, but then she miraculously and generously had her medical bills paid for.

Fourteen years and 85 Swig stores later, Tanner is grateful to be paying it forward in such a monumental way.

“Save The Cups means everything to me. I know exactly what these women have gone through, and to be able to support them in the same way I was helped all those years ago has been profoundly meaningful,” Tanner said. “I always say that Swig was born so it could lead us to Save The Cups, and I truly believe that.”

Swig customers contributed to the campaign during October by purchasing featured drinks, specialized merch, or simply making a contribution at their local Swig. The funds raised will be given directly to women battling breast cancer, who can use the donations to help combat the cost of medical bills. After 2023’s Save The Cups campaign, Swig was able to help 30 women.

“It was life changing,” said Courtney Haynie, a Swig customer and breast cancer survivor from Houston, Texas, who was a Save The Cups recipient last year. “It is an expensive process going through cancer treatment, and it’s already such an emotional and physically draining experience. Save The Cups saved our lives financially and allowed us to move forward in one aspect from that terrible experience. We were beyond grateful to have been chosen and to have received that relief.”

Applications for 2024 are now open! Swig customers can apply for assistance by nominating themselves or someone they know battling breast cancer at SaveTheCups.org.

One of the fastest-growing beverage companies in the country, Swig started the year with 61 stores and will end it with 104 stores in 14 states.
