SYSPRO, a leading, worldwide provider of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, announced today that the company is one of three finalists named for “Software Company of the Year” by the Technology Council of Southern California. The award, based primarily on industry leadership and “excellence in innovation,” also recognizes local involvement and social responsibilities, as well as commitment to macro issues such as “green” environmental initiatives.

SYSPRO was one of the first companies to pioneer a ‘green’ solution, when it introduced the SYSPRO Material Yield System which enables cut-shape suppliers to reclaim remnants for future use, saving them from landfills. Today, SYSPRO’s ‘green’ leadership is embodied by its “Project Green Enable,” a program focused across three dimensions: Waste Reduction and efficiencies; Recyclable/Re-Use of Resources, and Energy Efficiency.

SYSPRO is an active participant in industry associations and was a winner of the “Software Company of the Year” award in 2004. The company has consistently remained profitable and has never experienced an employee layoff.

This latest honor follows a string of awards recently presented to SYSPRO:

  • SYSPRO Named a Top Ten 2009 ERP Vendor by Business-Software.com
  • SYSPRO Takes Top ERP Software Honors as No. 1 ERPSuite in 2008 eWeek Channel Insider Product of the Year Awards
  • SYSPRO Reseller Channel Voted “Best” by K2 Enterprises
  • START-IT Magazine named SYSPRO Customer, Chocolate Potpourri, “Manufacturer of the Year – Mid-Market Category”

Joey Benadretti, president, SYSPRO USA, says, “This latest award is yet another affirmation that SYSPRO solutions are ‘setting the pace,’ enabling small-and-medium-size [SMB] manufacturers and distributors to successfully compete by ‘leaning and greening’ their operations and why SYSPRO customer retention is among the highest in the industry.”
