This spring, Taco Time NW is increasing guests’ options with the introduction of 13 new menu items featuring its fat-free pinto beans as a protein option.

Taco Time NW is exclusively sourcing all pinto beans from the family-owned Central Bean Co. in Quincy, Washington.

Many Taco Time favorites, like the Soft Taco, Southwest Chop Salad, Mexi-Bowl, Crisp Taco, Natural Soft Taco, and Tostado Salad, are now offered with pinto beans.

From chopping lettuce and tomatoes to making hot sauce, salsa, and pinto beans, Taco Time NW makes its food from scratch every single day. Each morning, Taco Time NW employees arrive early to prepare fresh, fat-free pinto beans, which are cooked daily using only beans, water, onions, and seasonings.

“Our guests are looking for options and ways to customize their meal to make it exactly what they want, and the introduction of pinto beans as a protein option on these entrees allows for so many more choices,” says Colin Ury, vice president of business affairs for Taco Time NW. “Guests are amazed when we tell them that our beans are prepared with only water, onions, and seasonings. We are very proud that we can offer this healthy, non-fat option to our guests.”

Sourcing beans from Central Bean Co. is one of the many ways Taco Time NW demonstrates its commitment to the environment and supporting family-owned companies.

Taco Time NW continues to increase the number of products sourced from Northwest suppliers, which includes potatoes, beef, and its long-standing partnership with Darigold for its cheese and tortillas from La Mexicana.

Central Bean Co. is part of the Food Alliance, which provides sustainability standards, evaluation tools, and voluntary third-party certification programs for farmers throughout the country.

As part of its commitment to the environment, Central Bean Co. practices no-till farming, a technique in which fields are not cultivated between crops, which increases the amount of water in the soil and decreases erosion while preserving soil nutrients.
