Taco Time Northwest, a northwest-based family-owned Mexican quick-service restaurant, is excited to announce the return of its made-to order, hand-tossed Chicken Caesar Salad and Chicken Caesar Salad Soft Taco items available on the menu now. Offered for a limited time only through September 29, 2013, these seasonal items are made fresh with the best local ingredients.

The crisp romaine lettuce used to prepare the Chicken Caesar Salad and Chicken Caesar Salad Soft Taco comes from local farms in Washington State’s Kent Valley, including the fourth generation, family-owned Carpinito Brothers farm. From farm to the table, the romaine lettuce which is harvested daily, is chopped by hand in the restaurants each morning. Salads and soft tacos are hand-tossed to order and include all-white meat chicken, shredded Parmesan cheese and creamy Caesar dressing. Seasoned corn tortilla strips that top off the salad are made fresh daily in each restaurant from tortillas provided by Seattle-based La Mexicana Inc., a local supplier that has partnered with Taco Time for 40 years. La Mexicana Inc. also provides the flour tortillas that wrap the soft tacos and are used throughout the menu.

During the summer months the Northwest is so rich in farming and fresh grown produce that we are lucky to be able to highlight the local farmers and bring back this seasonal favorite to our guests,” says Colin Ury, vice president of business affairs for Taco Time NW. “For the past 50 years we have remained committed to serving our guests the highest quality and freshest ingredients available and are excited that we are able to offer them more ingredients that are sourced locally.”

Founded by Frank Tonkin Sr. in 1962, Taco Time NW is now operated by the fourth-generation Tonkin family. Tonkin Sr. opened the first Taco Time with the goal of becoming one of the best Mexican food restaurants in Washington State and was met with great success, soon opening his second restaurant. Today, Taco Time NW has 76 locations spanning from Lynden to Longview and east to Moses Lake and East Wenatchee.
