The award-winning salsas of Tacodeli, an authentic taqueria and Austin, Texas, original, are available exclusively at Whole Foods Market in Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas and Oklahoma, beginning May 5, just in time to honor and celebrate Cinco de Mayo.

Whole Foods Market will carry three of Tacodeli’s award-winning salsas: Salsa Verde (mild), Salsa Roja (medium) and its signature salsa, Salsa Doña (hot). Salsa Verde is a blend of tomatillos, garlic, cilantro and serranos; mild by nature, Salsa Verde bursts with flavor. Salsa Roja has medium heat, with a charred flavor from the roasted-in-house tomatoes, serranos, garlic and onion. The Salsa Doña, Tacodeli’s signature salsa, features a unique jalapeno and garlic blend; its addictive fiery flavor having gained it a significant cult following.

Winner of multiple awards at the Austin Hot Sauce Festival, after Tacodeli’s 2007 Salsa Doña win in the green sauce category, Texas Monthly had much to say about the fiery salsa, stating, ”It will BLOW you away. More like catches your mouth aflame, but it is really good and very hot.”

These are the same salsas that Tacodeli customers have come to know and love at the restaurants across Austin, Dallas and Houston. Drawing on Tacodeli’s Mexican heritage and taking inspiration from Austin’s creative culture, each salsa was developed, refined and perfected in-house, and is made from all natural ingredients, is preservative free and gluten free. Available beginning May 5th for $6.99 each, in 12 oz. (355g) containers, Tacodeli’s salsas are found in the refrigerated section.
