Taft Foodmasters, a New York-based manufacturer/distributor of seasoned seitan, won second place runner-up in the New Product category at the 2012 International Restaurant Foodservice Show.
This is a coveted People’s Choice award.
Jessica Taft, CEO and president of Taft, had a booth in the show’s first ever Healthy Foods Pavilion. “This show confirmed that in fact mainstream restaurants are trying to add healthy menu items, and our vegetarian/vegan seasoned seitan was a hit.”
Taft says, “We make it easy for the mainstream chef to work with seitan. Mostly seitan is sold to health-food restaurants only because those chefs know what to do with it. Our seasoned seitan with recipes allows for the addition of a healthier vegetarian choice in mainstream restaurants that satisfies even the meat-eaters who are trying to find an alternative every now and then.”
Taft served samples of its delicious vegetarian gyro and sausage sliders, both made with their proprietary seasoning and cooking process.
