Tava Indian Kitchen, the Bay Area's rapidly expanding fast-casual Indian restaurant concept, announced that Jeremy Morgan, formerly senior vice president of marketing and consumer insights for Smashburger, was appointed to the position of CEO.

Throughout Morgan's career, he has demonstrated great ability in building successful restaurant brands. During Jeremy's tenure leading the marketing department, Smashburger became one of the most respected brands in the fast-casual restaurant sector, building 220 new units in the past four years. Smashburger received numerous awards, including being named “America’s Most Promising Company” by Forbes Magazine in 2012.

“I love the fact that Tava serves delicious Indian food in a fast-casual environment," Morgan says. "Customers can’t seem to get enough of the incredible flavors, and Tava is poised to be a game-changer with its healthy, innovative menu.”

Tava Indian Kitchen offers guests the ability to create their own Indian cuisine experience. Guests start with a Roti wrap (known as a "Burroti"), rice bowl, or salad bowl and select from their choice of all-natural chicken, grass-fed lamb, vegetarian, or vegan proteins. These are then topped with signature Tikka or Daal sauce and garnished with fresh veggies and one of five chutneys.

Tava uses all-natural ingredients and all dishes are made to order. In addition, guests can order online, and catering is also available.

Morgan says Tava has plans to build an additional 12 restaurants over the next two years. Tava will expand its three-restaurant footprint in the Bay Area this year and move into new markets beginning in 2015.

"We are thrilled to have Jeremy joining us as CEO to lead the growth of Tava,” says Tava cofounder and board chairman Vijay Brihmadesam. “He has been a valued member of the board of directors, and we are confident he is the right executive to lead Tava into its next chapter."

“We have a proven concept in one of the toughest restaurant markets in the country, and with Jeremy on board, we're well positioned to make Tava a leader in the fast-casual industry,” adds chief financial officer and cofounder Jason Pate.

"We couldn’t ask for a better combination of experience and passion for our brand,” says chief operating officer and cofounder Hasnain Zaidi.
