Tracking data from more than 100 national public and private chains that generate more than $40 billion in quarterly sales, the latest from Technomic’s Financial Dashboard finds that the fast-casual restaurant segment outperformed all others with nearly 8 percent growth in same-store sales during Q3 2014. Same-store sales within casual dining and quick-service restaurants increased by 1.9 percent and 1.2 percent during the same period, respectively.

Quarterly performance data, in addition to other key performance metrics, housed in the online-based Technomic Financial Dashboard are key tools that can be utilized to benchmark company and brand financial highlights and enhance competitive intelligence.

“Our quarterly Technomic sales tracker continues to report low restaurant growth across all segments but fast casual. Growth rates around 2 percent continue to signal heated competition for share of stomach and strong trends in consumer frugality,” says Darren Tristano, executive vice president at Technomic.

Reporting on the performance of public and private foodservice chains within each segment as well as the industry at large, Technomic’s Financial Dashboard provides up-to-date industry information and historical company financial health data. Efficiently streamline financial research initiatives, analyze foodservice and commodity data, and graph key performance indicators to understand the current foodservice financial landscape and develop new business opportunities. Online access enables easy data sharing with your colleagues and export of chart graphics for use in your presentations.
