The Social Order, the Oklahoma City-based team behind The Jones Assembly, Spark and the region’s Fuzzy’s Taco Shops, has announced its opening a second Dave’s Hot Chicken location in Edmond which will open to the public on Thursday, October 12 with the official grand opening on Friday, October 13. Dave’s Hot Chicken, a Los Angeles-based street food brand, inked a franchise agreement with The Social Order in 2021 to open eight locations throughout the region – the first of these locations opened in Bricktown last summer.
“As soon as we opened the doors of our first Dave’s Hot Chicken last summer, we were ready to do it all over again,” says The Social Order Founding Partner, Brian Bogert. “It’s been incredible to see the community’s response and to work alongside the Dave’s leadership team to bring unique menu items to our OKC locations. The countdown is on, and we can’t wait to share Dave’s Hot Chicken with Edmond.”
RED HOT RECIPE FOR SUCCESS
Founded by Arman Oganesyan, chef Dave Kopushyan- who was trained by Thomas Keller, and brothers Tommy and Gary Rubenyan, in early 2017, Dave’s Hot Chicken initially opened as a parking lot pop-up and now has more than 70 locations across the U.S. and Canada. The Nashville-style hot chicken concept specializes in tenders and sliders with spice levels up to “Reaper.” Each restaurant also serves sides like house-made kale slaw, mac and cheese and fries, with or without cheese.
In addition to the classic menu, the Edmond location will also be one of the few locations in the U.S. to offer the new Dave’s Bites – nugget sized hot chicken in hot, medium, or no spice. To cool things down, guests can indulge in a Frozen Whiskey Lemonade, Frozen Cherry Limeade, and Top-Loaded Milk Shakes in Oreo or M&M.
BOLD FLAVORS & DESIGN
Maintaining the design of its first brick and mortar location, Dave’s worked closely with The Social Order team throughout the construction process including hiring Los Angeles street artist Splatterhaus who has painted installations at all Dave’s Hot Chicken locations. Over the course of three days, from 7 p.m. to sunrise, Splatterhaus transformed the space into a work of art with custom graffiti installations on nearly every wall of the Edmond location.
“Constructing our first Dave’s last summer was an experience like no other, and the new Edmond location has been no exception,” says Korey Allen, Dave’s Hot Chicken local partner. “The care and attention to detail from their team is unparalleled and translates into everything from the incredible food to the unique design. We’re honored to be part of the brand and to share it with our OKC community.”
The Edmond location’s official grand opening is Friday, October 13. The restaurant will be open Sunday-Thursday: 11 a.m. – 10 p.m., Friday-Saturday: 11 a.m. – 11 p.m.
