Tijuana Flats, the fast-casual Tex-Mex specialist, is bringing the heat to Clearwater, Florida, this summer with a new location opening at 2849 Gulf to Bay Blvd. on Monday, May 7.

The restaurant, which is known for its “anything goes” approach to food and life, is hosting a series of events throughout the week to commemorate the grand opening, including a Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital fundraiser on Saturday, May 12. Fifty percent of all sales generated throughout the day will be donated to the organization. In addition to the fundraiser, Tijuana Flats is promoting its signature specials, Tijuana Tuesdaze (two tacos, chips, and a drink for $5.99) and Throwback Thursdaze (burrito or bowl, chips and a drink for $5.99), which will be available every Tuesday and Thursday at the new location to satisfy guests’ ongoing Tex-Mex cravings.

“At Flats, we are all about kicking back with a good meal and enjoying everything life has to offer, so a beach town like Clearwater is a perfect fit for us,” says Clearwater Area Supervisor Ray Mailman. “We already have an awesome group of ‘Flatheads’ in Tampa and St. Petersburg, and we are excited to welcome more TexMex lovers into the (burrito) fold.”

The new restaurant spans 2,400 square feet and seats 110 guests (70 interior, 40 exterior). Additionally, Tijuana Flats’ signature Hot Bar will feature 15 different hot sauces, ranging from “Sissy Sauce” to “Death Wish” because, after all, hot sauce doesn’t discriminate.

Clearwater patrons looking for a summer body fueled by tacos can also indulge in Tijuana Flats’ new “Megajuana” selections – double the meat and cheese on burritos, burrito bowls, and dos tacos for an additional $1.50.

Tijuana Flats also headed to Suffolk, Virginia, this summer with a new location opening Tuesday at 2051 Sun Harbour Ave. on the corner of Harbour View Blvd. and Community Dr. The restaurant, which is known for its “anything goes” approach to food and life, is hosting a series of events throughout the week to commemorate the grand opening, including a Troopster Donation Corp. fundraiser on Saturday, May 12. Fifty percent of all sales generated throughout the day will be donated to the organization.

In addition to the fundraiser, Tijuana Flats is promoting its signature specials, Tijuana Tuesdaze (two tacos, chips, and a drink for $5.49) and Throwback Thursdaze (burrito or bowl, chips and a drink for $5.99), which will be available every Tuesday and Thursday at the new location to satisfy guests’ ongoing Tex-Mex cravings.

“Supporting the military is part of Tijuana Flats’ DNA, so opening a location in a military town like Suffolk makes sense for our culture,” says Suffolk Area Supervisor Adam Moore. “With our recent expansion to Richmond and this new store, we are proving that Virginia isn’t just for lovers … it’s for tacos, too.”

The new restaurant spans 2,400 square feet and seats 87 guests (67 interior, 20 exterior).
