For the seventh year in a row, Tijuana Flats and its 501c3 charity, the Just in Queso Foundation—which provides aid to individuals, communities, and organizations in need—is raising money for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF).

Just in Queso’s newest charity hot sauce has redesigned its look for the month of October to portray a boxing match, where Just in Queso takes on its opponent, breast cancer.

Three dollars from every sale of the limited-edition hot sauce, the Sauce that Saves, will be donated to BCRF. Retailing at $5 a bottle, the sauce will be available for purchase from Friday, September 27, to Sunday, October 31, at all of Tijuana Flats’ 97 locations nationwide, as well as online at www.tijuanaflats.com and through BCRF’s Shop Pink online store.

“This year’s initiative is particularly exciting because we’re adding a new pink twist to our menu,” says Dede Franklin, president of the Just in Queso Foundation. “Having raised more than $250,000 to date for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, we are confident that we can top last year’s donation as guests are asked to ‘Make it Pink.’”

For a $1 donation, guests can choose to have a pink tortilla for their hard or soft taco entrée. One hundred percent of the donations through the “Make it Pink” option will benefit BCRF.

In addition, all guests, even those who choose not to “Make it Pink,” will get a combination of the seasoned chips and pink, “ribbon-shaped” chips (if their entrée comes with chips or are ordered separately).

Not only is Tijuana Flats adding a twist to its signature tacos, chips, and specialty sauce, but also through its quirky and vibrant colored ceiling tiles. Throughout the month of October, survivors of breast cancer will be asked to sign their names on a custom-designed ceiling tile, which will be permanently displayed at each location.

Anyone who donates in any way during this charity-driven month will receive a sticker to wear that shows his or her support in the fight against breast cancer.
