Earlier this month, Tijuana Flats’ Just In Queso Foundation, a 501c3 charitable organization, held its annual “Share the Love, Feel the Music,” gala at Hard Rock Live in Orlando. This year’s event was Just In Queso’s most successful fundraising effort ever raising, $136,215—$52,000 more than 2012.

Part of those donations, nearly $44,000, will go directly to Fifth Third Bank’s Summer of Dreams, a local program that provides 10 weeks of tutoring, sports, field trips, and meals for local homeless students during summer break.

“Just In Queso’s donation will provide nearly 300 children an opportunity to participate in program benefits for the entire summer at no cost to their families,” says senior vice president of marketing at Fifth Third Bank, Kim Praniewicz. “We look forward to a long, fruitful partnership with this organization moving forward.”

The remaining donations will go into Just In Queso’s fund that is used to provide aid to individuals, communities, and other organizations in need. This charity is unique in that it collects funds in order to have money ready and waiting “just in case” a tragedy strikes.

“The Just In Queso Foundation supports individuals, families, and organizations in need during all kinds of tragedies,” says Just In Queso development manager Ben Kuykendall. “Whether it’s helping those affected by natural disasters, individuals facing life-threatening medical illnesses, or even sending a little bit of home to our military overseas, Just In Queso is there.”
