Get ready to hang 10 with a new food truck in North Dallas. Tikiz Shaved Ice & Ice Cream—a fast-growing mobile franchise specializing in Hawaiian shaved ice and ice cream—partnered with Lewisville, Texas, entrepreneur Kelly Hodgson to bring the Coolest Truck On Earth to the area. Delivering an inviting and entertaining experience to every destination, Hodgson’s Tikiz truck now services Carrollton, The Colony, Dallas, Frisco, Lewisville, and West Plano, Texas, among other nearby communities.

Whether Tikiz’s refreshing Hawaiian shaved ice or ice cream is enjoyed at a birthday party, school fundraiser or other community event, consumers can expect to be transported to the tropics. With steel drum music roaring, colorful neon lights dancing, and water misters cooling off crowds on warm days, the food truck’s presence provides a vacation-like atmosphere.

Hodgson’s professional background includes work as a CPA and an income tax product manager for Thomson Reuters for 15 years. For the past three years, she also has been a Jazzercise instructor. Additionally, she volunteers as the treasurer for Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas for her local service unit and team manager of the Fuego FC soccer club, and is involved in the local PTA.

“The Tikiz family fun atmosphere, matched with my values and current involvement with the community. This new truck is all about creating a one-of-a-kind experience. We want customers of all ages to enjoy stopping by our truck to grab an icy-cool treat and hang around, enjoying the company of friends and family,” Hodgson says. “Tikiz was inspired by ice cream trucks of the past and aims to bring back cherished memories while creating new ones for the local community.”

Tikiz’s shaved ice and ice cream products are low fat, gluten free, contain no high-fructose corn syrup, and are Smart Snack approved, per the guidelines set by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). Fat-free and complete with a gumball at the bottom of each cup, the Hawaiian shaved ice can be enjoyed in any combination of 10 syrup flavors, including a sugar-free option. Ice cream rounds out the Tikiz’s menu with a wide range of ice cream bars and sandwiches.

Wrapped in a Hawaiian beach-theme, the custom-built Tikiz truck is decked out with traditional surfboard signage and décor. With a patented “Surv-Board” dispenser, guests can customize their own fruit syrup creations. Each unit is based off all-new, heavy-duty, and fuel-efficient Ford truck platforms that are built from the ground up with numerous custom components. For example, the self-contained water system and high-output batteries allow operators to produce more than 400 shaved ice servings per hour and eliminate the need for noisy generators so guests can enjoy the fun, tropical tunes.

Tikiz Shaved Ice & Ice Cream is available for birthday parties, fundraisers, school events, summer camps, daycares, youth sporting events, church functions, corporate events, carnivals, picnics, barbecues, movie nights, festivals, and more. Tikiz also offers a FUNdraising program, donating 20 percent of the day’s sales back to the event or supporting cause.

“With my experience in fundraising, I know firsthand how overwhelming it can be, especially trying to get everyone in the program involved and the local community excited,” Hodgson says. “That’s why I’m happy to say that the Tikiz FUNdraising program creates an easy solution for local organizations to add an entertaining element to their charity event and also drive donations. It’s fundraising uncomplicated.”
